Review

It is a condiment of Chinese origin, produced by fermenting soybeans. Its origin was given approximately 2,500 years ago during the Ancient Western Zhou Dynasty and it is currently used in more than 100 countries around the world including Peru. Sillao is not only used in Peruvian-Chinese food dishes (known as chifa), but also in some typical Creole food.

Suggested dishes

It is one of Peru's flagship dishes and expresses that cultural mix, which incorporated Peruvian ingredients with the Chinese technique of "sautéing" or quick cooking at high stove temperatures using the "wok", a large concave frying pan that facilitates This process and better integrates the flavors of the beef tenderloin with the red or Creole onion, the yellow chili, the tomato, the vegetable oil, the French fries and the inevitable sillao.
